摘要: Single units responsive to noxious mechanical stimulation of orofacial receptive fields were recorded within the ventrobasal complex rat thalamus. The induced activities compared before and after deafferentation subnucleus caudalis by a trigeminal tractotomy performed at obex level. activated classified as 'oral' when included in oral, perioral or paranasal areas, 'facial' facial regions distant from oral cavity. After tractotomy, unit responses an field remained unchanged 8 cases, decreased 3 suppressed 4 cases. For responding field, two cases other So it appears that rostral part sensory (1) receives nociceptive afferents mainly areas (2) is relay ascending pathways which convey painful sensations.
