摘要: Abstract : Superconductors offer effectively zero resistance to the flow of electricity and thus have potential significantly reduce Joule energy losses in distribution utilization electric power, as well size weight power generators motors. Although superconductivity was first discovered 1911, temperatures near absolute were required for their operation, so large-scale application limited until discovery 1986 a new class oxide superconductors that operate at much higher (although still cryogenic) temperatures. Recently, remarkable progress has been made fabrication practical conductors using superconductors. Some properties (both low- high-temperature types) overcoming impediments commercialization are reviewed. Also discussed ongoing demonstration projects transmission lines, motors, generators, synchronous condensers, transformers currently being constructed by teams industry government researchers implement test this technology commercial settings.
