摘要: In mammals, the mitochondrial F1Fo-ATPsynthase sets out energy homeostasis by producing bulk of cellular ATP. As for every enzyme, laws thermodynamics command it; however, it is privileged to have a dedicated molecular regulator that controls its rotation. This so-called ATPase Inhibitory Factor 1 (IF1) blocks reversal avoid consumption ATP when enzyme acts as an hydrolase. Recent evidence has also demonstrated IF1 may control alignment along inner membrane, thus increasing interest molecule. We conceived this review outline fundamental knowledge and link mechanisms which regulates way function, with ultimate goal highlight important possibly unique means indispensable in both physiological pathological settings.
