摘要: Abstract Graft copolymers of sodium alginate (NaAlg) with itaconic acid (IA) were prepared in aqueous solution using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as the initiator. Grafted (NaAlg- g -PIA) characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The grafting parameters, including graft yield (GY%) copolymer efficiency (GE%) reaction evaluated comparatively. effects variables such time, temperature, percentage alginate, monomer initiator concentrations on these parameters studied. It was observed that GY GE first increased then decreased increasing polymerization IA, BPO. optimum conditions for maximum obtained time 1 h, temperature 85 °C, IA concentration 1.38 M, BPO 1.82 × 10 −2 M NaAlg 1.5 g/dL.
