摘要: This article explores the religious roots of job security regulations in Western democracies by putting Esping-Andersen's famous social Catholicism thesis to test. Esping-Andersen argues that due socialization, Catholics exhibit more conservative family values, i.e. they tend support male breadwinner model. To sustain this model organization, are expected regulations. These have been described literature as important determinants gender-segregated labour markets and low female employment rates. Data from show while indeed models, so do Reformed Protestants persons general. Furthermore, no relationship between denomination preferences for can be observed. The analysis thus refutes thesis.
