摘要: Glucocorticoids modulate the secretion of growth hormone (GH) by various and competing effects on hypothalamus pituitary gland. The final this modulation depend concentrations duration exposure. traditional hypothesis is that chronically raised levels glucocorticoids suppress GH. However, a functional impairment GH reserve might also be observed in patients with low glucocorticoids, such as those secondary hypoadrenalism, which consistent model biphasic dose-dependent somatotropic axis. This Review updates our current understanding mechanisms underlying clinical implications dual action humans. will address potential diagnostic therapeutic for deficiency or excess glucocorticoids.
