Production of Vanadium Concentrate from a Small-Scale Lead Vanadate Deposit by Gravity Concentration: A Pilot Plant Study

摘要: The renewable energy revolution calls for high-performing materials and makes metallic compounds like lithium, cobalt, nickel vanadium more critical. Innovations contribute to inventions developments redox flow batteries large-scale storage systems with numerous technological advantages. Potential shortages of its sources will turbulence in pricing. Nowadays, main production sites are located Russia, China South Africa. About 85% applications ferroalloys high-performance alloys, which make price dependent on the iron ore market. Partial covering a potential demand may be achieved by an exploitation lead vanadate deposits as alternative source. In present work, processing ore, mainly containing vanadinite descloizite was investigated. Based characterizations preliminary beneficiation tests, flowsheet developed design small-scale plant, including comminution, dewatering gravity separation. Preliminary laboratory tests samples from plant show promising results recovery concentrate grade 12 16% V2O5 68 75%.
