ICE DRIFT AND UNDER ICE CURRENTS IN THE BARENTS SEA

摘要: As part of an environmental data measurement programme in the Barents Sea, conducted by Oceanor on behalf Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, a dedicated experiment was carried out during winter 1987-88, incorporating measurements ocean currents under ice and ARGOS satellite tracking floes. The analysis from this have up to date concentrated drift trajectories, but features general interest also been found current measurements. main conclusions be drawn at present stage are 1) strong correlation is between local wind 2) floe closely coupled tidal regime region 3)current 10m depth below reveal no evident with frequencies away 4) response dominated topographic effects mesoscale oceanographic processes.
