摘要: Purpose : To investigate a method for discriminating changes in the pattern of corneal collagen fibrils to detect keratoconus (KC). Methods Patients with KC and healthy controls were included this prospective study. Corneal tomography (Pentacam) was taken as well interferometric analysis diffractive polarizing effects related birefringent properties (Lumaxis device, Phronema S.r.l., Bari, Italy). Three scans each eye per patient acquired. Custom software developed improve visualisation representative cross by extracting histogram equalised luminance provide numerical outcome characterise We then fit set ellipses image semi-automatic approach, aiming capture boundaries iris, pupil, four quadrants cross, upper lower eyelids. Combining information, we are able obtain (called parameter). A correlation between Kmax calculated. Results total sixty eyes patients included: 30 subjects KC. The control group 60 eyes, mean age 38.0 ± 13.2 years. comprised 39.2 12.9 Maximum keratometry value 59.4 11.2 D 45.3 .8 group. parameter 0.41 0.028 0.24 0.055 Using only measures from resulting Lumaxis scan, distinguish eyes. Conclusions new morphological information at level. different can be recognised compared patients.
