摘要: [1] We combine velocities for 14 continuous GPS stations spanning Mexico and 173 additional sites on the North American Pacific plates to study large-scale deformation of Mexico. The new station velocities, which are derived from more than 6000 days previously unused data, provide first ever view crustal velocity field Key results as follows: (1) Areas north Mexican Volcanic Belt, not including Baja California, move with plate interior within 1–2 mm yr−1 uncertainties. Station Basin Range consistent no present-day extension yield an upper 95% limit 1–3 any regional extension. (2) South five six significantly relative plate. All in Yucatan Peninsula toward east at 3–4 yr−1, possibly defining independent block. (3) Site limits 0–4 present slip across Belt. (4) Tampico, gulf coast, exhibits eastward motion gravity sliding known occur adjacent Ridges fold belt. (5) Southeastward La Paz is hypothesis that fully attached (6) Residual 160 outside exhibit coherent patterns indicative internal deformation.
