Relationship between non destructive and static modulus of elasticity of commercial wood plastic composites

摘要: The relationship between stress wave nondestructive (NDE) modulus of elasticity (MOE) and static MOE determined by four point bending test commercial wood-plastic composites was evaluated in this study to assess the potential using NDE technique as a grading tool for wood plastics it is currently done solid lumber. on Metriguard Model 340 E computer system, same boards measured an Instron Universal Tester model 5587 according ASTM standard D 6109. Results showed that values overestimated from 3.5% 17.6% depending boardwalk type. Regression analysis no significant correlation Static MOE. These results suggest may not be appropriate estimate plastic trend however needs confirmed further testing larger sample size different combination raw materials.
