Facile synthesis of a mesoporous alumina and its application as a support of Ni-based autothermal reforming catalysts

摘要: Abstract Mesoporous nanocrystalline γ-Al 2 O 3 powder with high specific surface area (>220 m /g) was prepared by a “solid state” method and employed as the support for nickel catalysts. Ni catalysts supported on this alumina were investigated in autothermal reforming of methane. The characterized XRD, BET, DR-UV-Vis, TPR SEM techniques before after reaction. effect experimental conditions, such temperature, space velocity, steam to carbon (S/C) oxygen (O/C) ratio catalytic performance Catalyst 25 wt.% content revealed methane conversion (around 86% at 700 °C). activity is reduced calcination 800 °C, which results lower formation bulk aluminate spinel.
