摘要: ABSTRACT The utilization of the cellulose and hemicellulose pretreated biomass for production fuels chemicals was investigated. Aspenwood by steam-explosion then fractionated water-extraction into a water-extract fraction rich in sugars from cellulose-rich residue. two fractions were hydrolyzed either acid or fungal enzymes (cellulase xylanase enzyme complexes Trichoderma harzianum E58) to component sugars. sugar mixtures both hydrolyzates could be fermented efficiently Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 8724 Clostridium acetobutylicum 824 butanediol butanol, respectively. further enhanced combining enzymatic hydrolysis fermentation (CHF). process readily scaled up laboratory fermentors. also successfully extended combined components aspenwood agricultural residues (i.e., steam-exploded without extraction). results demonstrated industrial potential organisms bioconversion total carbohydrates valuable chemicals.
