摘要: [1] West Africa is a region of strong coupling between soil moisture and precipitation where numerical weather prediction generally exhibits poor skill. This has been the focus African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis - Land-surface Model Intercomparison Project in which European Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) land surface scheme—among others—has driven offline by accurate meteorological forcing order to produce improved estimates. The impact these initial conditions for on short-range forecast examined with ECMWF Integrated Forecast System. While direct beneficial more realistic obtained accumulated regions over coast Gulf Guinea eastern Sahel, rest Sahel detrimental or neutral.
