Possible role of glucagon in cyproheptadine-induced increase of insulin secretion

摘要: In order to test the hypothesis that insulin secretion may be affected by increased glucagon levels during cyproheptadine (CPH) administration, an arginine-glucose was performed in 8 normal women and repeated after three days of CPH administration at a dose 16 mg/day. Both response were treatment so their incremental areas. For glucagon, increase present all times tested, for this rise significant only first 60 min arginine rapid secretory phase following glucose injection. The difference between areas before significantly correlated above mentioned peak values. These data are agreement with thatin vivo action on partly mediated its effects circulating levels.
