摘要: Three patients with intractable epilepsy, two brain tumors, and one encephalitis were imaged magnetic resonance (MR) positron emission tomography (PET). MR data used to construct a three-dimensional (3D) computer model of the surface depicting precentral (movement), postcentral (sensation), left inferior frontal (speech), superior temporal (hearing) gyri. PET-derived measurements average metabolism encoded as colors mapped onto 3D by means retrospective technique for registering scans. The integrated depicted location PET-detected metabolic abnormalities respect gyral anatomy visualized MR. In each case, predicted relationships confirmed intraoperatively inspection electroencephalography. Multimodality displays are likely be particularly valuable interpreting PET studies epileptic others normal anatomy.
