摘要: Abstract Like most harbors, the Port of Ensenada, Mexico, is vulnerable to accumulation pollutants. A wave-driven seawater pump (Sistema de Bombeo por Energia Oleaje [SIBEO]) proposed inject clean and oxygen-rich water from outside promote flushing in its more stagnant areas. Three-dimensional, numerical simulations with Estuary Lake Computer Model (ELCOM) were used investigate behavior, extent, effect SIBEO inflow. Conservative tracer experiments indicate that would spread through pycnocline become noticeable throughout harbor within a month. The method yields bulk estimate time for port approximately 4 days, although spatial variability significant. least-flushed areas are NE SE corners, where greater concentrations pollutants have been observed.
