摘要: Abstract The effect of substituting U with Th in a widely reported intermetallic compound UCu 2 Ge has been investigated by carrying out DC magnetization and magnetoresistance measurements. 0.5 Cu polycrystalline sample shows paramagnetic to an antiferromagnetic-like transition at ∼ 57 K. Below 57 K, first-order metamagnetic phase observed (e.g. 5 K under 33 kOe field) clear hysteresis the hysteretic field region expands decrease temperature. At lower temperatures, field-induced ferromagnetic state gets arrested normal ferromagnetism large remanent coercive field. Evidence arresting also found our study. A value ( 24%) applied 70 kOe.
