摘要: This longitudinal study examines transitions on and off Medicaid in the 1984 Panel of Survey Income Program Participation. A majority those enrolled at outset, but just 43% any time during 32-month survey, remained throughout. While slightly less than half departing program subsequently enjoyed improved employment, private insurance, higher incomes, nearly were still poor 55% became uninsured, indicating that persons who lost their cards real danger being without insurance financial access to health care--a serious disincentive get welfare.
