Longitudinal Voxel-based morphometry with unified segmentation: evaluation on simulated Alzheimer’s disease

摘要: The goal of this work is to evaluate Voxel-Based Morphometry and three longitudinally-tailored methods of VBM.We use a cohort simulated images produced by deforming original scans using Finite Element Method, guided emulate Alzheimer-like changes. provide quite realistic data with known pattern of spatial atrophy, which VBM’s findings can be meaningfully compared. We believe the first evaluation VBM for anatomically-plausible ‘gold-standard’ results are available. longitudinal methods have been implemented within unified segmentation framework SPM5; one techniques newly developed procedure, shows promising potential.
