摘要: The Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis) has been shown to play a major role in the regulation of variety physiological as well psychological processes. This article will give an overview over its structure and diverse functions, such basic bodily functioning, behavior, stress reactions or psychopathology. Furthermore, underlying mechanisms internal external parameters which modulate basal HPA activity reactivity those processes associated with be discussed.
