摘要: Type I interferons (IFN) are pleiotropic cytokines originally described as molecules used for communication between cells to trigger the protective defenses against viral infections. Upon activation, type IFN can be produced locally in central nervous system (CNS) from a number of different cell types including microglia, CNS-resident macrophages. Increased production and signaling microglia critically important limit infection disease progression multiple sclerosis. However, recent findings suggest that even baseline levels constitutive expression secretion homeostasis CNS. In fact, absence particles chronic elevation may tremendously harmful CNS, assumed patients suffering Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome, Cree encephalitis or other interferonopathies. The highly diverse nature brain during health will discussed this report.
