摘要: Abstract : Four teams of Special Forces volunteers were divided into two groups to test the Mead, Ready Eat (MRE) and Ration Cold Weather (RCW) rations in a field moderately cold environment. Pre post measurements taken, data was limited questionnaires daily urine dipstick measure. Both lost weight (MRE - 6.9 lbs; RCW 5.9 lbs) as average caloric intake 2733 kcal less than MRE group 2751 for group. These intakes approximately 1000 that their estimated energy requirements. showed evidence dehydration (as indicated by elevated urinary specific gravity) which could have been reduced better water discipline. The ration consumption led lower protein, salt higher carbohydrate ration. (4541 kcal) weighs about half much comparable amount (4 = 4892 kcal). There did not appear be any significant difference rations, but theoretical decrease requirements due protein content decreased make choice use environments where freezing, availability, are important considerations. A future version should maintain present level, reduce sugar reducing bar/cookie components, include items encourage fluid consumption. Keywords: Weight loss; hypohydration.
