摘要: Abstract In 1983, a catastrophic landslide occurred in Saleshan, Dongxiang, Gansu, China, which resulted the death of 237 people and destruction 585 houses. Saleshan was rapid moving loess area, moved with long run-out distance on gentle sliding surface. This paper reviews characteristics its consequence, analyzes possible triggers processes development, back-calculates kinematic landslide. The digital elevation models (DEMs) study area before after event were used to analyze geomorphological event. authors inferred deformation failure based available observations. Direct shear tests carried out obtain parameters soil involved post-failure process, adopted following simulation using an energy-based runout model. velocities materials at different time stage together variation maximum flow height are presented. also compared calculated results field observations previous results. Sensitivity analysis conducted understand effect internal basal friction angles characteristics. indicates that fast-moving traveling distance. lasted more than one minute velocity approximately 25 m/s according calculation model, consistent estimations observation eyewitness. gives insight progressive mechanism explains high mobility details, provides reference for hazard zonation areas along platforms.
