摘要: DC fault protection arrangements for a large multi-terminal HVDC network are proposed where fast-acting circuit breakers only used at strategic locations with the to be operated interconnected but partitioned into islanded zones in case of any events one zones. Each zone can protected using low cost, slow devices such as AC coordinated switches or mechanical type breakers. This ensures maximum ‘loss-of-infeed’ networks connected system is kept within acceptable limits reduced investment cost expensive fast acting minimum. A post-fault recovery method faulty section including reconnection healthy part ensure reliable and smooth restoration network. detailed pre-fault power flow analysis also conducted voltage droop control. The validated by simulation two-zone, six-terminal respective radial meshed configurations.
