摘要: The Obama administration has simultaneously marketed the prospect of providing undocumented immigrants a pathway to citizenship through comprehensive immigration reform and overseen mass deportations mostly Latino immigrants. While it is clear that policy was highly influential voters in 2012, remains unclear how this political hypocrisy being interpreted by voters. As have risen steadily during administration, there been little research on personal connections influenced attitudes Latino/a electorate. Using nationally representative survey 800 registered administered 2013, we explore relationships between issue salience among Latinos as well Latinos' views President Obama. This study finds who know deportees are more likely report they think Congress should act versus all other policies. Moreover, someone less favorable towards implications for our collective knowledge direct indirect outcomes influences behavior electorate will be future when much higher proportion such connections.
