摘要: In conventional analytical chemistry it is customary to report figures of merit - such as precision, analysis time, limit detection for the chemical performed. Usually, are reported each analyte separately, generating a list merit. metabolomics listing not informative, since very many compounds measured. An ANOVA-based strategy proposed global measure precision whole experiment, broken down in components variation contributing total variation. This uses well established statistical techniques and can be used easily. It was implemented study reproducibility different comprehensive GC- LC-MS methods tobacco aerosols. The results give insight into sources variation, biological variability, sampling variability repeatability. For specific example, median CV values ranged from 4.6% 12.5% repeatability; 14.7% 18.0% and, finally, 24.2% 26.8% variability. Such breakdown gives clues improving methods. © Royal Society Chemistry 2009.
