摘要: Understanding how genetic diversity is structured on oceanic island taxa requires the integration of physical, biological and anthropomorphic factors. Founder effects coupled with limited dispersal over sea barriers typically result in low levels variation populations. In widespread species, restriction gene flow across large areas leads to patterns isolation by distance (IBD), but recent population-based studies indicate that structure islands can be complex even at local scales. Here, we investigated a palm (Phoenix canariensis) displaying reproductive syndromes associated extensive (wind pollination zoochory). Genetic was assessed eight nuclear microsatellite loci 330 individuals 15 Canarian Our results showed within-population P. canariensis depend considered, strong decreasing pattern from easternmost oldest westernmost youngest islands. A Mantel test supported stepping-stone model differentiation archipelago fits sequence emergence, ABC clustering analyses also corresponded this progression rule. addition, our were congruent idea only population found Lanzarote has an anthropogenic origin. Despite high potential canariensis, suggest geographical configuration Canary Islands relatively appear have had primary influence taxon.
