摘要: Protected area networks are the cornerstone strategy for biodiversity conservation worldwide. They efficient even in face of human pressures. Brazil is a megadiverse country and this reason it should not be left out discussions on conservation. Here we present temporal spatial analysis historical national investments country's protected network. We compare investment light international agreements (e.g., CBD), evaluate trends biases establishment areas. obtained following data from database maintained by Brazilian government: number areas, dates when they were established, their size category (strict protection or sustainable use). Our results show that does meet recommended levels protection, its network coverage favors few biomes only, flow has varied greatly.
