摘要: Abstract Purpose This investigation aims to explore the improvement of relatively new hoarseness severity quantification method, called Acoustic Voice Quality Index (AVQI), which measures concatenation continuous speech (CS) and sustained phonation (SP) segments. Earlier investigations indicated that proportion SP is more dominant in final AVQI result than CS. Method Sixty voice samples were selected with different pathologies equal distribution ranged from normal severe. Every sample varied three durations: duration-one (VD-1) seventeen syllables text plus seconds SP, duration-two (VD-2) customized length CS duration-three (VD-3) a whole SP. All perceptually judged on overall quality by five experienced clinicians. AVQI’s precision concurrent validity assessed all VDs. Finally, internal consistency across VDs was analyzed. Results No significant differences found perceptual evaluation acceptable rater reliability. The distinguished as marked degree correlation (i.e., rs = 0.891 rs = 0.929) no best VD-2. showed VD-2 balanced out impact score both tasks. Conclusion Although currently uses material VD-1, present study demonstrated results consistency). These features facilitate higher representativity improve this objective diagnostic instrument.
