Near-infrared long-lasting phosphorescence in transparent glass ceramics embedding Cr3+-doped LiGa5O8 nanocrystals

摘要: Abstract Cr 3+ doped transparent glass ceramics of SiO 2 –Ga O 3 –Li were fabricated by melt-quenching and subsequent crystallization. X-ray diffraction transmission electron microscopy analyses evidenced that cubic LiGa 5 8 nanocrystals homogeneously precipitated among the silicate matrix. The incorporation ions into was absorption, emission time-resolved luminescence spectra. Impressively, present demonstrated to be a new near-infrared (∼720 nm) long-lasting bulk phosphor whose can last for more than 2 h after stoppage UV (250–350 nm) irradiation. occurring phosphorescence in confirmed mainly due precipitation :LiGa from filling/releasing electrons into/from intrinsic traps through conduction band host proposed responsible realization investigated ceramics.
