摘要: Abstract Development of a bio-composite using synergistic combination is promising strategy to address various pathological manifestations acute and chronic wounds. In the present work, we have combined three materials viz., mupirocin as an antimicrobial drug, sol–gel processed silica microsphere drug carrier for sustained delivery collagen, established wound healer scaffold. The mupirocin-loaded microspheres (Mu-SM) Mu-SM loaded collagen scaffold were characterized surface morphology, entrapment efficiency distribution homogeneity, in vitro release, water uptake capacity, cell proliferation antibacterial activity. vivo healing efficacy was experimented full thickness excision model Wistar albino rats. incorporated showed good characteristics terms better uptake, availability closure analysis revealed that complete epithelialisation observed at 14.2 ± 0.44 days whereas this 17.4 ± 0.44 days 20.6 ± 0.54 days control groups, respectively. Consequently, combining dressing material would be ideal biomaterial treatment wounds, burns foot ulcers.
