摘要: Humanized mice are valuable models for the research and development of vaccine strategies therapeutic interventions to control or eradicate HIV. The BLT humanized mouse model is particularly promising because combination transplantation human fetal pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells with surgical engraftment thymic tissue results in improved T cell reconstitution, maturation, selection. To date, has been used study many aspects HIV infection including prevention, mucosal transmission, HIV-specific innate adaptive immunity, viral latency, novel antiretroviral immune-based therapies suppression reservoir eradication. Here we describe recent advances applications discuss opportunities further improve this small animal model.
