摘要: Abstract Objectives. To assess the levels of caveolin-1 in a series bladder tumor specimens varying stage and grade to identify possible links between status clinical behavior. Caveolae have emerged as sites important regulatory events at cell membrane many different types. Caveolins are main structural components caveolae belong family highly conserved integral proteins. The function appears be intrinsically linked signaling modulation by multiple pathways. Modification CAV-1 gene expression common feature oncogenically transformed phenotype. Methods. Using rabbit polyclonal antibody against immunohistochemistry, we assessed protein 89 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections. patient group studied included 71 men 18 women (mean age ± SD 69.7 10.9 years). was Ta-T1 68 T2-T4 21 tumors this series. follow-up 1 38 months 21.2 9.9). Results. A statistically significant association observed immunoreactivity ( P = 0.0118, chi-square test), with 8 (21%) G3, (3%) 30 G2, 0 G1 positive for caveolin-1. When data were examined conjunction status, no relationship seen multiplicity, recurrence, progression, or survival. Conclusions. results our study demonstrate that altered is component dedifferentiation subset high-grade cancers. This pilot provides basis further investigation role most aggressive forms tumor.
