摘要: Syndecan-1, a heparan sulfate-rich membrane glycoprotein, is expressed in plasma cells and considered reliable marker of plasmacytic differentiation. However, it has not been widely tested non-hematolymphoid tissues, thus its utility the setting an undifferentiated malignant neoplasm evaluated. The authors conducted extensive study CD138 staining over 1,700 normal, benign, using five tissue microarrays. Immunohistochemical was performed with two commercially available monoclonal antibodies directed against syndecan-1 (Serotec, Oxford, UK, DAKO, Carpenteria, CA). In addition to specific staining, many normal tissues epithelial tumors showed strong cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. A small subset mesenchymal neoplasms also squamous cell carcinoma head neck, renal carcinoma, prostate adenocarcinoma, intensity inversely correlated histologic grade carcinoma. statistically significant differences their correlation grades differed depending on whether Serotec or DAKO antibody used. These results indicate that immunoreactivity widespread neoplastic as well variety processes. conclude expression syndecan-1, although relatively within hematolymphoid system, should be interpreted extreme caution neoplasm. Furthermore, this different tumor types.
