摘要: The aim of this study was to determine trends in incidence, treatment and survival colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with synchronous metastases (Stage IV) the Netherlands. This nationwide population-based included 160,278 diagnosed CRC between 1996 2011. We evaluated changes stage distribution, location four consecutive periods, using Chi square tests for trend. Median months determined, Kaplan-Meier analysis. proportion Stage IV (n = 33,421) increased from 19 % (1996-1999) 23 (2008-2011, p < 0.001). predominantly due a major increase incidence lung (1.7-5.0 all patients). During period, primary tumor resected less often (65-46 %) use systemic has (29-60 %). Also an metastasectomy found one metastatic site, especially liver-only disease (5-18 %, 7 12 months. Especially confined liver or lungs improvement apparent (9-16 12-24 respectively, both In last two decades, more were detected increasing treated therapy and/or metastasectomy. Survival significantly improved. However, prognosis becomes increasingly diverse.
