Physiochemical properties of a bioceramic-based root canal sealer reinforced with multi-walled carbon nanotubes, titanium carbide and boron nitride biomaterials.

摘要: Abstract Aim Bioceramic-containing root canal sealers are the most recently introduced in endodontics. The present work reported experiments on a bioceramic-based sealer with objective of improving its physiochemical properties via reinforcement each one three different nanomaterials: multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTS), titanium carbide (TC) or boron nitride (BN) two weight percentages (1 wt% and 2 wt%). Methodology Each nanomaterial was added to definite BioRoot (BioRoot™ RCS, Septodont, Saint-Maur-des-Fosses, France). Three composite groups percentage were prepared for evaluation: BioRoot/MWCNTS, BioRoot/TC BioRoot/BN. initial final setting times, solubility, elution pH values freshly-mixed set samples evaluated compared pristine BioRoot™ RCS. Setting times using Gilmore needles. Solubility determined after immersion water 24 h. Scanning electron microscopy used examine microstructure materials. Results 1-wt. % composites possessed significantly shorter RCS (p  Conclusions A bioceramic-containing (BioRootTM RCS) time, an alkaline profile, relatively lower solubility may be developed by incorporation nanomaterials.
