摘要: The palatine tonsil is positioned to play a key role in protecting the body against ingested microorganisms. These microorganisms must traverse tonsillar epithelium initiate immune reactions, but no information available from dogs on structure of this epithelium. In study, morphology and ultrastracture was examined using light electron microscopy. two types: reticular non-reticular. Reticular epithelium, which invaded by lymphoid cells, located over apices nodules, separated indistinctly islands non-reticular squamous contains M cells are more abundant towards periphery nodules. apical membrane forms folds microvilli extend into lumen oropharynx. Abluminally, cytoplasmic processes enfold clusters lymphocytes. Numerous desmosomes secure marginal plasma lateral membranous interdigitations adjacent epithelial thereby maintaining integrity Epithelial discontinuities, few, occupy similar positions appear contain migrating A fenestrated basement allows cell transport between intraepithelial passageways subepithelial tissues.
