摘要: Abstract Objectives The objectives of this study were to estimate trends in the prevalence infections nursing home (NH) residents using 2006-2013 Minimum Data Set (MDS) data, number all 2013, and evaluate differences between MDS versions 2.0 3.0. Design Retrospective study. Setting NHs United States. Participants All NH with a quarterly or annual assessment (n = 30,366,807 assessments). Measurements 3.0 data (2006-2013) from over 15,000 used 7-day multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO) infection, pneumonia, septicemia, viral hepatitis, wound infection 30-day urinary tract (UTI). Admission assessments excluded. Annual counts estimated 2013 data. Changes reported time examined tests linear trends. Results In there an 1.13 2.68 million residents. UTI pneumonia most commonly every quarter, ranging 5.6% 8.1% 1.4% 2.5%, respectively. Prevalence increased 2006-2010 (P values  Conclusion Infections are major persistent problem NHs. Although useful for identifying prevalence, revisions definitions need be accounted when evaluating time. Additional research is needed identify factors that contribute changes prevalence.
