摘要: This chapter aims to review the current state of art and future perspectives specifically concerning use liquid-crystalline (LC) monomers in UV-curable systems. More specifically, effect LC monomer structure on photopolymerization reaction, as well topography/morphology cured networks is thoroughly discussed, also taking into account eventual segregation phenomena phases that may occur upon exposure UV radiation. Furthermore, final thermal, dielectric, viscoelastic mechanical features UV-cured systems containing are described. In part chapter, some recent applications (i.e. hybrid organic inorganic nanocomposite thin films, stimuli-responsive materials, actuators, shape-memory biomedical components) presented discussed.
