摘要: AbstractThe Atlantic multidecadal oscillation (AMO) is the leading mode of sea surface temperature (SST) variability at time scales. Previous studies have shown that AMO could modulate El Nino–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) variance. However, role played by in tropical (TAV) still uncertain. Here, it demonstrated during negative phases, associated with a shallower thermocline, eastern equatorial SST enhanced more than 150% boreal summer. Consequently, interannual TAV modes are modified. During AMO, Nino displays larger amplitude and westward extension preceded simultaneous weakening both subtropical highs winter spring.
