摘要: Abstract : The opto-mechanical effect observed in amorphous chalcogenide films deposited onto clamped STM cantilevers 1 has been investigated. In this, bandgap light, incident on the film and linearly polarized either parallel or perpendicular to cantilever axis, reversibly causes respectively a contraction an expansion of layer, resulting optically-actuated displacement free end cantilever. This is electronic, not thermal, origin, believed be caused by same photoinduced structural rearrangements that are responsible for optically induced optical anisotropy glasses. Possible applications this new all-optical actuation switching will discussed.
