摘要: Abstract Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) are very toxic chemicals which emitted in waste incineration whose exposure has important adverse effects for the human health. In 2019, adipose tissue samples were collected from 15 individuals with a median age of 61 years, who had been living near hazardous incinerator Constanti (Spain). The content PCDD/Fs each sample was analyzed. results compared data previous studies, conducted before (1998) after (2002, 2007 2013) facility started to operate, based on populations similar age. mean concentration 6.63 pg WHO-TEQ/g fat, ranging 0.95 12.95 pg fat. A significant reduction observed respect baseline study (1998), when 40.1 pg fat found. Moreover, current level much lower than those 3 studies (9.89, 14.6 11.5 pg 2002, 2013, respectively). body burdens strongly correlated levels fully agreed decreasing trend dietary intake by population zone (from 210.1 pg I-TEQ/day 2018 8.54 pg WHO-TEQ/day 2018). Furthermore, decrease also other biological, such as breast milk plasma. tissue, well biological monitors, indicate that HWI is not particularly exposed high PCDD/Fs. However, biomonitoring cannot differentiate impact emissions food consumption patterns. This question can be only solved conducting complementary investigations contrasting monitoring epidemiological studies.
