摘要: This chapter considers how the various internet communication technologies discussed in Section I can and have been used to support, arguably transform, social behavioural research methods. Focus here is on primary research, that is, "the acquisition analysis of data produce novel evidence findings" (Hewson, Laurent Vogel, forthcoming). Primary has referred as internet-mediated (IMR) (Hewson et al. 2003) this term will be adopted throughout present chapter. The not consider secondary internet, such conducting a literature review or creating bibliography; for useful guides latter see Hewson (2003); O Dochartaigh (2012). structure follows: overview history IMR; scope range IMR methods, with illustrations; key issues debates (data quality, sampling, ethics); future possibilities directions.
