摘要: Affective symptoms are frequently observed in patients with epilepsy. Although the etiology of these behavioral complications remains unknown, it is possible that brain damage associated frequent or prolonged seizures may contribute to their development. To address this issue, we examined sequelae repeated brief evoked by electroconvulsive shock (ECS) and compared them those resulting from status epilepticus (SE) induced pilocarpine. Using open-field elevated plus-maze tests, detected presence alterations indicative levels anxiety rats were administered a course ECS seizures. Fear conditioning was also enhanced animals. However, had experienced SE exhibited less anxiety-like behavior than controls severely impaired fear conditioning. These results support notion lesions caused either sufficient induce some affective disturbances.
