摘要: Selecting genetically diverse and complementary parental lines superior crosses are pre-requisites in developing improved cultivars. The objectives of this study were to determine the combining ability effects gene action conditioning rice yellow mottle virus disease (RYMVD) resistance agronomic traits (Oryza sativa L.). Ten their 45 F2 progenies field evaluated three locations using a 5 × 11 alpha lattice design with two replications. genotype site interaction significant (p < 0.05) for number tillers (NT), panicles per plant (NPP), grains panicle (NGP), percentage filled (PFG), thousand grain weight (TGW), RYMVD yield (GY). analysis general specific (GCA SCA) indicated involvement both additive non-additive governing inheritance traits. High GCA/SCA ratio estimate revealed genetic effect was predominant. Parental Mwangaza, Lunyuki, Salama M-57, M-19, IRAT 256 M-55, which had negative GCA RYMVD, families such as SARO 245 Rangimbili, Rangimbili Gigante SCA selected RYMV breeding. Gigante, M-19 M-55 due desirable GY. predominance present breeding populations suggested that improvement could be achieved through introgression recurrent selection.
