摘要: In a wide variety of organisms, L-proIine and glycine betaine are amongst the compounds accumulated intracellularly as compatible solutes to counteract effects turgor reduction during growth in water-stressed environments. Two osmoregulatory transport systems, ProP ProU, have been identified characterized enterobacteria, each which participates active concentration both L-proline from culture medium response osmotic stress. The expression genes encoding components ProU porter is induced 400-fold upon high-osmolarity medium; elucidation molecular mechanisms underlying such regulation would possibly enable understanding large class processes that involve transduction mechanical signals chemical ones within biological systems. A complete basis by function osmoregulation also provide insight into similar adaptation at cellular level economically important genera microbes higher plants.
