On the accuracy of point curvature estimators in a discrete environment

摘要: Abstract Points of maximum curvature are commonly believed to be the most perceptually significant points on digital curves, and as such have been used shape features in both 2D 3D object recognition by many researchers. We experimented with several different measures curvature, found them unreliable presence noise. present results a series experiments using geometric shapes which illustrate relative performance three estimators point varying degrees make recommendations estimator might expected achieve best under given conditions.
