摘要: Abstract Toxoplasma gondii can cause parasitic encephalitis, a life-threatening infection that predominately occurs in immunocompromised individuals. T. has the ability to invade brain, but mechanisms by which this parasite crosses blood–brain-barrier (BBB) remain incompletely understood. The present study reports changes associated with and replication of within human brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs) vitro. Our results indicated exposure had an adverse impact on function integrity BMECs – through induction cell cycle arrest, disruption BMEC barrier integrity, reduction cellular viability vitality, depolarization mitochondrial membrane potential, increase DNA fragmentation, alteration expression immune response tight junction genes. calcium channel/P-glycoprotein transporter inhibitor verapamil was effective inhibiting crossing dose-dependent manner. showed compromise several functions demonstrated inhibit
