摘要: Abstract The in situ and real time observations of the equiaxed grain motion during directional solidification Al–10 wt% Cu under static magnetic field has been carried out by means synchrotron X-ray radiography. It was observed that grains moved approximately along direction perpendicular to both imposed temperature gradient. Based on radiographs, solid analyzed for various gradients, it shown trajectories were combination Thermo-Electric Magnetic forces, induced coupling thermo-electric currents with permanent gravity force. variations velocities sizes growth measured compared a simple analytical model forces Stokes law. A good agreement achieved deviation angle as function diameter, while large discrepancy velocity intensity when dimensions increased. In latter case, corrections sample confinement morphology mandatory explain very low values velocities.
